Equine Assisted Learning Teacher

Junior is our 'go to' guy! He gives endless patience to his teammates and inspires confidence to anyone who feels unsure about working with horses. We could hand his lead-rope to a 3 year old child with complete trust in his steady personality. Junior had a long and loving partnership with his former owner who rode him through mountain trails for 15 years.

 

After developing arthritis, he began to stumble on the trail and was retired from riding. W.E.L.L. is extremely fortunate that his owner wanted this great horse to continue with a purpose - and that she donated him (along with Cody) to our program. Junior is usually the first horse you'll meet because he will calm any fears while building your trust and confidence. He's not a pushover though! He gives us many teachable moments, just in a slower fashion than some of the more sensitive horses. Junior encourages participants to make sure they are engaging the whole team; if he's not motivated, he doesn't feel the need to give much effort...does anyone?
